Seacove Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 August 2026.
By creating a Seacove account, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.
1. Who runs Seacove
Seacove is operated by a company currently being incorporated in the EU. These Terms will be updated to name that company, its registration details and jurisdiction, once incorporation completes. Being between the closed-beta stage and formal incorporation does not remove or reduce your rights under these Terms, or the operator’s obligations to you.

2. Who can use Seacove
You must be 18 years of age or older. Seacove is not for anyone under 18, and no part of it is designed for a younger audience.
You confirm your date of birth at sign-up. If Seacove finds reasonable grounds to believe an account belongs to someone under 18, at any time, the account is suspended and, if confirmed, permanently removed, along with the data associated with it, subject to the retention rules in the Privacy Policy.
Seacove is built for people who work aboard cruise ships, or who are connected to that industry. It is not restricted to any one cruise line, employer or nationality.
3. Your account
You need an email address, or an Apple or Google account, to sign up. One account per person. You’re responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything that happens under your account.
Verification is mandatory. Two separate checks apply, and both matter:
- Email verification, confirming you control the inbox you signed up with.
- Selfie verification (liveness and face match), confirming you are a real person and that you match your profile photos. Full detail on how this works, and what data it involves, is in the Privacy Policy.
You can browse the app freely before verifying. You cannot like, super like, match or message until verified. If you haven’t verified within 48 hours of your first login, the app locks to a verification screen with no way to skip it: you either complete verification, wait for a manual review if the automatic check didn’t pass, or stop using the app.
A Verified badge appears next to your name once you pass. Faking, bypassing or attempting to circumvent verification, including by using a modified copy of the app, is a breach of these Terms and grounds for immediate account termination.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, bio and other content you post. By posting it, you give Seacove a licence to store it, display it to other users as intended by the app’s features, and process it as needed to run the service (for example, running it through automated photo moderation, described in the Privacy Policy).
Free-text fields, including your department and position, go through the same moderation process as your bio. Don’t post anything there that you wouldn’t post as a bio.
You are responsible for what you post. Don’t post anything that:
- Is sexually explicit, exploitative, or involves anyone who hasn’t consented to appear.
- Harasses, threatens, or is intended to intimidate another user.
- Impersonates another real person, or claims a false identity, employer, ship, or role.
- Contains hate speech, or targets someone for who they are.
- Solicits money, promotes a scam, or is commercial spam.
- Infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Is illegal where you are, or where the person you’re contacting is.
5. Report, block, and moderation
Every profile and every message can be reported and blocked. Reporting and blocking are always free, always available, and never require you to explain yourself to the person you’re reporting.
Blocking is total. A user you block cannot see your profile, your ship, or that you exist on the app, anywhere, including the map, the Ports tab and port-overlap messages. This is enforced by the database itself, not just by the screen.
Seacove commits to responding to a report within 24 hours. This means reviewing it and taking a decision, which may be a warning, a content removal, a suspension, or no action if the report doesn’t hold up; it does not mean every report results in a suspension. If we take action against your account based on a report, we will tell you what was decided and, at a basic level, why, so you understand the outcome even if you weren’t told the identity of the person who reported you.
6. Subscriptions
Seacove offers four tiers. Free costs nothing. Three paid tiers are billed monthly only, through Apple’s In-App Purchase on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android:
| Tier | Price |
|---|---|
| Seacove Free | €0 |
| Seacove Pearl | €14.99/month |
| Seacove Diamond | €19.99/month |
| Seacove Black Pearl | €29.99/month |
Exact feature entitlements per tier are shown in the app’s paywall and may be adjusted; the price and billing cycle above are current as of this document’s date and any change to them will be reflected here and shown to you in-app before it takes effect for a new billing period.
Payment goes through Apple or Google, never directly to Seacove. Seacove does not process, store or see your card number or payment details. Your payment method, billing, and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple’s or Google’s own systems, under their own terms.
Auto-renewal. A paid subscription renews automatically each month at the price then in effect, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged through the same payment method on file with Apple or Google.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time, from your Apple ID subscription settings or your Google Play subscription settings, not from inside Seacove directly, because Apple and Google, not Seacove, hold your subscription record. Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not refund the period already paid for, and your paid tier stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
Refunds. Seacove does not grant refunds directly, in any case, for any reason. Because Seacove is paid through Apple’s and Google’s own in-app purchase systems, every refund request is handled by Apple or Google, under their own refund policies. This is the complete and final position: there is no additional Seacove-run refund process beyond what Apple or Google approve.
EU 14-day withdrawal right. Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, consumers normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. For digital services, this right can be waived if you expressly agree to the service starting immediately and acknowledge you lose the withdrawal right once it does. Both Apple’s and Google’s purchase flows already collect this acknowledgement as part of their own checkout process before a subscription starts. If EU law entitles you to a withdrawal in your specific case, exercise it through Apple’s or Google’s own refund process for the platform you subscribed through.
7. What we can do if you break these Terms
We can warn you, remove content, suspend your account, or terminate your account permanently, depending on the severity and pattern of what happened. For a serious safety issue (for example, a credible threat, or content involving a minor), we can and will act immediately, without warning.
If your account is suspended or terminated, we’ll tell you the reason, at least at a basic level, unless doing so would compromise a safety investigation or reveal another user’s identity in a way that creates risk for them.
If your paid subscription is active when your account is terminated for breaking these Terms, that subscription does not automatically refund; cancel it through Apple or Google directly to stop future charges.
8. Cruise line names, ship names and logos
Seacove lists real cruise lines and real ships by name, because that’s how the app works: you tell it what ship you’re on. Using a company’s name to identify their own product, in this way, is standard and lawful. Seacove does not use, and will not use, any cruise line’s logo, house colours, or other trademarked visual identity anywhere in the app or on the website. Names appear as plain text only.
Seacove itself, its name, logo and branding, are the property of the company operating Seacove. You can’t use them without written permission.
9. Safety, and what Seacove is not
Seacove helps you meet other crew. It does not run background checks on users beyond the verification described in section 3, and it cannot guarantee the identity, intentions or behaviour of anyone you meet through it.
Use ordinary caution. Meet in public places when meeting someone for the first time, especially in an unfamiliar port. Don’t share financial information with someone you’ve matched with. Trust your judgement, and report anything that feels wrong; see section 5.
Seacove is not liable for the conduct of any user, on or off the app, or for anything that happens at a meeting arranged through it.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Seacove is provided “as is.” We work to keep it running, accurate and safe, but we don’t promise it will always be available, free of bugs, or free of errors in ship, port or itinerary data (which come, in part, from third-party published sources we don’t control).
To the extent permitted by law, the liability of the company operating Seacove to you for anything arising from your use of Seacove is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months before the claim arose, or €100, whichever is greater. This limit does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under EU consumer law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of Italy, where Seacove’s operations are currently based. This will be revisited once the operating company is formally incorporated and its jurisdiction is settled. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, nothing in these Terms takes away the protection given to you by the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where you live.
12. Changes to these Terms
These Terms can change as the product changes. If a change is material, you’ll be told in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Seacove after a change takes effect means you accept the new Terms. If you don’t agree with a change, you can stop using Seacove and delete your account at any time.
